Welcome to my website, I first started writing this Waterside Diary in
2009,and here we are at the beginning of its second year, on here there is
nothing to buy and nothing to sell, I must first explain that this all started
as a bit of fun that resulted from two of my favourite hobbies, Freshwater
Fishing and my Computer, and now that I am in retirement it gives me
the opportunity to pursue them both, From the computer angle it has been
a real test learning how to research and be able to produce this website,
Which without the help of my young nephew James I would probably still
be on page one of the instruction manual.
On this website I hope to be able to record and share our fishing
adventures with others who have similar interest in fishing, giving a
Monthly update on what’s happening on the bank, passing on any
information that may be helpful to others, such as Parking, amount of pegs,
disabled facilities, type of fish stocked, Lake record, toilets provided, night
fishing available, etc.
Whenever possible during the week I try to get out fishing often trying my
luck at different venues, and as we are now both retired my wife is very
happy to accompany me on my fishing ventures very often (telling me what
I am doing wrong) while she relaxes in the natural surroundings reading
her book, on some weekends, and when the grandchildren are on their
school holidays I try to go fishing with them, along with some of my
friends, out of my eleven grandchildren six of them are ardent anglers,
each of them entering into many of the local fishing competitions and all
of them capable of setting up their own tackle and of course hiding there
“secret baits” from grandad, It gives me great pleasure watching them
grow, enjoying such a great outdoor pursuit, and being able to share the
same hobby seeing them catch and safely return their catch totally
unharmed back to the water.
This is the beginning of the `Waterside Diary`and as with most things that
have only just started it will take some time to build, later it is hoped when
I am more organized to be able to invite others to send in pictures of their
catches along with details and any interesting stories so we can add them
to the Waterside Diary.
I hope that you find something that helps or is of some interest to you in
my `Waterside Diary`.
Many of the Fish images and lake information found in this diary were
sourced from other websites, for this help I am very grateful, but should
this in anyway offend, please contact me through my website Links, so
this can be corrected.
